Help Center

What is a homeschool/hybrid program?

Our program is a partnership between parents and certified/highly qualified teachers. Our teachers introduce the concepts on-campus then students are provided with work to do at home on homeschool days.

What is the school schedule?

The school day starts promptly at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Drop off starts at 8:45 a.m. All core content is covered and introduced by teachers on campus days. Optional electives are offered once a week on Thursday afternoons from 2:15-3:15 pm.

What am I expected to do as a parent?

Your student will have work to do on their at-home days. Your job is to support the student in completing the work we have provided at home. Help them find the resources they may need to complete the assignments. Discuss the assignments with them to ensure they are grasping the content. Communicate with teachers about any questions, concerns, or what your child may need more help understanding.

Is Magnolia Heritage Academy a co-op?

No, MHA is not a co-op. Typically co-ops require parents to stay on-campus and participate in some manner of all students’ education.

Is MHA a University Model School?

No, MHA is not a university modeled school. We are not a preparatory school either. We believe in teaching the child as a whole at their level of understanding. We believe each child will grow to develop their own unique talents and skills that will determine their future educational track.

What is your educational philosophy?

We believe and value those who are called to teach! To us it is very important that we have certified and highly-qualified teachers who have exceptional experience and knowledge in differentiating material for students by using a variety of instructional strategies. We have teachers who are well-versed in assessing students needs and adjusting their teaching methods to best serve the student. We believe in providing parents with a strong educational support backed by professional teachers. This is what sets us apart and allows us to have such a cohesive blend between our on-campus and off-campus days.

Are you a franchise?

No, we are independently founded and a local non-profit.

Are you accredited?

No, we are not accredited. We are a homeschool hybrid, so we share 50% of the work with parents. We do follow state TEKS and guidelines and always align our instruction accordingly. Our students are all instructed at or above level in terms of TEKS.

Do you integrate technology?

Yes, we use document cameras, and projectors on campus to help students receive information in wide variety of mixed media. Every student also gets their own email and access to google classroom that allows seamless classroom-to-home integration and communication.
Parents are given access to the google classroom to monitor scores, assignments,
and activity.

Are children grouped only by their age and grade?

We pride ourselves on individually tailoring our curriculum for each student, so when we have properly assessed that a student may advance in their studies, we move them up as needed. We do not simply put children in their age/grade. Some students may need to be accelerated or remediated in a particular content area.
